By using WeanSafe ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. About WeanSafe
WeanSafe is a free baby weaning food guidance app that provides age-specific safety and preparation information for common foods, based on publicly available NHS and UK government sources.
2. Pricing and features
WeanSafe's core food lookup features are currently provided free of charge.
We may in future introduce optional premium features or advertisements. If we do, free users will continue to have access to the core food safety lookup. Any paid features will be clearly identified before purchase, and we will never restrict access to safety-critical information behind a paywall.
3. Medical disclaimer
WeanSafe does not provide medical advice.
The information in this app is general guidance based on publicly available NHS and UK government sources. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Every baby is different. What is safe for one baby may not be safe for another.
- If your baby has allergies, medical conditions, or special dietary needs, consult your GP or health visitor before introducing new foods.
- If you are concerned about choking, allergies, or any aspect of your baby's feeding, speak to your health visitor or GP.
- In an emergency, call 999 immediately.
We make every effort to keep the information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, correct, or current at all times.
4. Guidance only
The food safety ratings, preparation instructions, and serving suggestions in WeanSafe are guidance based on publicly cited sources. They are intended to support — not replace — the advice of qualified healthcare professionals.
5. No warranty
WeanSafe is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be available at all times or free from errors
- The information will be complete, accurate, or up to date
- The app will meet your specific requirements
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to:
- Any decisions made based on the app's guidance
- Any adverse reactions or health outcomes
- Any loss of data or interruption of service
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
7. Intellectual property
All content, design, and code in WeanSafe is the intellectual property of the WeanSafe team. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Food safety data is derived from publicly available UK government and NHS sources published under the Open Government Licence where applicable.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app
- Use the app in a way that could damage or impair its availability
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will be revised accordingly. If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the app before they take effect.
